The state boasts five national parks, nine national monuments, and over forty state parks, all offering breath-taking views, brilliant red rock sunsets and adventure-filled walking trails. Utah is one of the best places in the world to experience star gazing as all national parks are designated as International Dark Sky Places, 24 in total - more than anywhere else in the US.  You can spend several days exploring one of Utah's national parks and still not see all of its wonders. Salt Lake City makes a great gateway for your holiday throughout the state. The city is surrounded by mountains and the views are spectacular. If you time your visit to be in Salt Lake City on a Sunday, you can attend one of the world-famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir live broadcast performances, or alternately, attend their Thursday night rehearsal performances. 

The Historic Temple Square area is the city's top attraction with guided tours of the historic sites, interactive exhibits, world-renowned genealogy search libraries, art displays, parks and gardens. Another must-see attraction is the Museum of Natural History of Utah, which provides the best of Utah's history in a new, state-of-the-art facility nestled in Salt Lake's foothill mountains. Visitors should also take time to visit City Creek Center, a downtown mixed-use retail complex, which offers the best shopping in the city with great urban appeal.
