Day 1 - Fly to from the UK to Salt Lake City and collect your car
The city is surrounded by mountains and the views are spectacular. Salt Lake City is the world headquarters of the Mormon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and if you have timed your journey to be here on a Sunday you can attend the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra’s live broadcast at 9.30am. The choir also rehearse on a Thursday evening. The Historic Temple Square area is the city’s top attraction with guided tours of the historic sites, interactive exhibits, art displays and parks and gardens. For anyone interested in genealogy, a visit to the Family Search Center is a must.

Day 3 - Drive to Logan, approx. 80 miles
Make an early start and head to Antelope Island State Park (25 miles north of Salt Lake City), which is accessed by a causeway and sits in Great Salt Lake, and is home to free-roaming bison and antelope herds. Another great stop-off is the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge which protects the largest freshwater wetlands of the Great Salt Lake ecosystem. Since these wetlands are surrounded by arid desert lands, they have always been an oasis for waterfowl and shorebirds and over 250 species of birds call this 76,000-acre Refuge home.
Logan is set in a high mountain valley and is known for outdoor adventures and strong heritage. Culturally, the Logan area hosted the Shoshoni tribe’s ancestral hunting for thousands of years and is still home to great examples of early pioneer architecture, built by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including the Temple and Tabernacle and historic courthouse. Stop at the Visitors’ Center in the 1882 courthouse for details on a self-guided walking tour of historic downtown Logan, and you can sample the city's excellent art galleries, specialty shops and dining options as you go. Within easy reach of Logan you will find jeep tours, horse riding, mountain biking, hiking and canoeing.

Day 5 - Drive to Vernal, approx. 270 miles
Your journey today will take you via the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Stretching 90 miles, the reservoir is famous for water sports, trout fishing, and spectacular scenery. And you can also visit Steinaker and Red Fleet State Parks. You'll find plenty of territory to hike, bike, and raft all summer long.
Vernal is your base for Dinosaur National Monument, the only place in the world that provides an interactive experience with more than 1,500 dinosaur bones and fossils. Visitors can view and touch dinosaur bones in their original resting place! Thousands more fossils are scattered throughout the 200,000-acre monument, and driving through the scenic canyon landscape is beautiful.

Day 7 - Drive to Moab, approx. 215 miles
Moab is home to Arches National Park, a red rock wonder containing the world's largest concentration of natural arches. A paved road winds through the park allowing easy access to some of the most impressive sites, and hiking trails penetrate more remote areas. From Moab you can raft on the Colorado River, take a horse ride or jeep tour, or rent bikes and ride the Slickrock Trail. You can experience Canyonlands National Park - a rugged and remote area created by the mighty Colorado and Green rivers. The vast majority of the park is accessible via jeep trails, although some areas are accessible only to hikers and backpackers.
This is an adventurer’s haven and the Moab Main Street has a selection of outfitters and local shops catering to the outdoor enthusiast, as well as plenty of places to restore your energy and quench your thirst before and especially after all the activity!

Day 9 - Drive to Torrey, approx. 155 miles
Located just eight miles from the west entrance of Capitol Reef National Park, Torrey is an idyllic little tree-lined town on the Capitol Reef Country Scenic Byway (S.R. 24) surrounded by rose-coloured cliffs and green meadows. At an elevation of 6,830 feet, summer temperatures are pleasant and perfect for outdoor adventure. Its proximity to Capitol Reef National Park, the mountains of Fishlake and Dixie National Forests, Scenic Byway 12: Utah's All-American Road, sublime desert landscapes to trout-filled alpine lakes, make Torrey an outdoor lover's perfect hub for some of the most spectacular scenery and outdoor recreation opportunities in the state. Whether it’s hiking, mountain biking, canyoneering, climbing or anything else, you are bound to find it in the area, and there are also guided options available, including ATV tours.

Day 11 - Drive to either Midway, approx. 195 miles or Park City, approx. 215 miles
If you’re still craving all there is in outdoor adventure then Midway is for you. This mountain resort area is reminiscent of the Swiss Alps and offers zip-lining, horse riding, fishing, golf, hiking, biking and so much more! After all that you can book a relaxing dip in The Crater, a unique geological spring hidden within a 16 metre tall beehive-shaped limestone rock with waters nearly 20 metres deep. The hole at the top of the dome lets in sunlight and fresh air while the interior stays heated by the mineral water, at a constant range around 30C, for a completely unique and therapeutic soak and swim. You can also paddle-board and scuba dive in the Crater!
Park City on the other hand still offers easy access to all of the areas activities, but gives you the offerings of a mountain resort town. Learn about the city’s silver mining heritage, soak-up the artistic vibe, work up an appetite for the diversity of fine restaurants that line Park City's Historic Main Street and beyond, and relax with a well-earned drink at one of the great bars, distilleries or tasting rooms.

Day 13 - Return to Salt Lake City, approx. 50 miles from Midway or 30 miles from Park City
