Day 1 Fly from the UK to Salt Lake City
Stay one night at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel at Temple
The city is surrounded by mountains and the views are spectacular. Salt Lake City is the world headquarters of the Mormon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra. The Historic Temple Square area is the city’s top attraction with guided tours of the historic sites, interactive exhibits, art displays and parks and gardens. For anyone interested in genealogy, a visit to the Family Search Center is a must.
Day 2
Collect your RV and begin your road-trip! Head north out of Salt Lake City approx. 125 miles to the Logan area and overnight here.
Visit the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge or the Golden Spike National Historic Site, with its two reconstructed early railroad engines and a fascinating museum detailing the meeting point where the two ends of the transcontinental railroad met up, and where they re-enact the putting in of the last spike of the railroad.
Day 3
Continue north on Highway 89 into Wyoming and the Jackson area, home to Grand Teton National Park, approx. 195 miles.
Explore the towering granite peaks of this stunning park, with its lakes, forests, hiking trails and wildlife viewing opportunities. The town of Jackson boasts a collection of Western stores, great local restaurants and outdoor pursuit companies.Stay three nights in the Jackson area
Day 6- Head into Yellowstone National Park, approx. 60 miles
Established in 1872, Yellowstone is America’s first national park and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including bears, wolves, bison and elk. Preserved within the park are Old Faithful and a collection of the world’s most extraordinary geysers and hot springs, as well as the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. There are hiking and biking trails and several interpretive centres to help you get the most out of your visit. Stay three nights in Yellowstone National Park.
Day 9- Head on to Cody, on the eastern side of the park, approx. 120 miles.
Cody was founded in 1896 by the living legend, Colonel William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody, who at the age of 41 was one of the most famous men in the world. Outdoor adventure includes rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, fly-fishing, horseback riding or river rafting. Three scenic byways offer opportunities to view wildlife and see some of the most beautiful landscapes anywhere.
Cody Nite Rodeo happens every night from June to August and includes events such as bronc riding to bull riding and team roping to barrel racing for adults and kids.
Day 12
Drive to the Rock Springs area, approx. 275 miles. Head back south today and stop for two nights in the Rock Springs area.
Killpecker Sand Dunes, just a few miles north of Rock Springs, are the largest in North America, and there are hiking trails and scenic drives through the area. Just south of Rock Springs is the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area - a boat and fisherman's paradise. A ‘must see’ in the area is the Wild Horse Scenic Loop Tour where you can see some of the largest wild horse herds in the world.
Day 14
Drive to Garden City, approx. 175 miles. Visit Bear Lake State Park and take a paddle boarding trip on the lake, rent a boat or just relax on the beach!
Day 15
Return to Salt Lake City, approx. 120 miles and drop off your RV. Fly from Salt Lake City back to the UK.
