Day 1 – Boston, MA
Fly from the UK to Boston and stay in the city for two nights.
The City of Boston provides a great contrast between old and new and is known as America’s Walking City. Walk the Freedom Trail and experience the city’s history, shopping, restaurants, night life and the famous Harvard University. A great way to see Boston is to take a “hop-on hop-off” Trolley Tour that will show you all the highlights of the city.
Day 3 – Boston, MA to Jackson, NH (approx. 145 miles)
Pick up your car from Boston Downtown and drive up to Jackson, a town in the heart of the White Mountains. Stay overnight in Jackson.
This quiet resort town features an abundance of traditional North American architecture, warm hospitality and scenic beauty, all reflecting classic New England charm. During your stay in New Hampshire, don’t miss a trip up Mount Washington, either by car or the cog railway. Outdoor activities include hiking, biking and rafting around here, as well as golf and tax free shopping at the factory outlets in North Conway. The area is dotted with small villages and towns and is well known for its beautiful scenery, covered bridges and quaint shops.
Day 4 – Jackson, NH to Lower Waterford, VT (approx. 55 miles)
Drive from Jackson to the Lower Waterford, Vermont, where you’ll be able to explore the Northeast Kingdom. Stay in the Lower Waterford area for 6 nights.
Vermont is known as the Green Mountain State and offers stunning scenery: fields dotted with white and brown cows, barns and covered bridges, stone walls and country roads. It is also great for hiking, biking and fishing, skiing and snowboarding, maple syrup and ice cream! To avoid the crowds, head for the far corner of Vermont, where you can experience the Northeast Kingdom Fall Foliage Festival in the beautiful Autumn season. Taking place in seven small towns, expect arts & crafts, home-baked apple pies, church suppers and live music to provide you with the best experience of the Northeast Kingdom.
Day 10 – Lower Waterford, VT to Woodstock, VT (approx. 78 miles)
Drive down to Woodstock, a town with charming New England heritage and beauty in the heart of the Green Mountains. Stay overnight in Woodstock.
Woodstock, VT is a colourful destination that harnesses the spirit of independence and craftsmanship of the state. Take a hike up Mount Tom that takes just 30 min from town and provides a breath-taking view of the entire village; visit the Woodstock Farmers Market for locally inspired produce such as cheeses, chocolates, jams and breads; or take a trip to the Billings Farm and Museum, where you can get a taste of traditional New England farm life from the 1890s, with butter-making and sheep-shearing demonstrations.
Day 11 – Return to Boston (approx. 142 miles) and drop off your car in time to check in for your flight home.
