Day 8 Orlando to Miami, approx. 240 miles
Head south to Miami, south Florida’s iconic city. The beautifully restored Art Deco district is home to hundreds of shops, sidewalk bars, cafés and celebrity restaurants and night clubs. Whether you are on the huge sandy beach, sitting in a sidewalk café or simply wandering around, South Beach is a great place to people watch. Relax on the beach or paddle boarding, jet skiing or parasailing! Take a boat tour on Biscayne Bay to get a glimpse of some of the homes in Millionaires Row or head out to the Everglades for a thrilling airboat ride.

Day 10 Miami to Marathon, approx. 120 miles
A wildlife and nature day today as you head into the Florida Keys. Visit the Turtle Hospital, a former bayside motel that has been converted to a facility for injured and sick sea turtles, or the Dolphin Research Center where you can learn about their rehabilitation programme for Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions. The Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters is designed to inspire visitors to adopt a passionate stance on conservation and preservation of the fragile marine ecosystems, and offers guests the opportunity to interact with the native inhabitants of the Florida Keys marine ecosystem.
Take hike or walk at Crane Point, a slightly elevated patch of land referred to as a ‘hammock’, tucked away amid the heart of Marathon. This 64-acre tropical oasis of hardwood trees, nature trails and educational exhibits has been preserved from development and is another land-based option for exploring this part of the Keys.

Day 11 Marathon to Key West, approx. 50 miles
Today you’re heading further south to the Lower Keys, where things are even more relaxed! Make sure you take your time and stop at Bahia Honda State Park. Featuring an award-winning beach and historic bridge, Bahia Honda State Park a 524-acre state park located on Bahia Honda Key. It offers deep near-shore waters for swimming and snorkelling, as well as water sports such as kayaking and fishing.
Located closer to Cuba than to Miami, Key West is Florida's irreverent southernmost subtropical paradise, a unique confluence of history, climate, natural beauty, cultural diversity, architecture and unabashed romantic appeal. The furthest point south in Florida, Key West is a cute and beautifully restored town with lots of historical connections, shopping, galleries, dining and beaches.
At day’s end in Key West, visitors gather at Mallory Square to experience the daily “sunset celebration” — a tradition that Key Westers share with visitors. While musicians, jugglers, mimes and other performers provide entertainment, the sun sinks slowly below the horizon as sunset cruise boats sail by in Key West Harbour.

Day 12 Key West to Key Largo, approx. 95 miles
Key Largo is flanked by the Everglades National Park to the west, a premier destination for kayakers, birders and other eco-tourists.
To the east is the continental United States' only living coral barrier reef, and Key Largo has earned the moniker of Diving Capital of the World. Six miles offshore in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary is the Spiegel Grove shipwreck, a 510-foot former US Navy ship intentionally scuttled in 2002. But Key Largo’s star attraction is John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park — the first underwater preserve in the United States. These two refuges, part of the Keys’ marine sanctuary, feature 55 varieties of delicate corals and almost 500 different species of fish.
Key Largo has some of the most fascinating botanical scenery in the state. All this beauty, not to mention the island's rich history, has inspired a vibrant community of artists who show their work at several local galleries. Key Largo is well known for the quality of its diving and fishing opportunities.

Day 13 Key Largo to Naples, approx. 140 miles
Head to Florida’s Gulf Coast along the Tamiami Trail – also nick-named ‘Alligator Alley’ – to Naples and the Paradise Coast’s natural beauty. The Paradise Coast boasts more than 30 miles of soft, white sand beaches, and with so much coastline on offer, there’s plenty of opportunity for activity on the water, with surfing, kayaking, jet skiing, windsurfing, paragliding, paddle boarding and airboat rides in the Everglades, there’s definitely something for everyone.

Day 15 Naples to Bradenton, approx. 130 miles
Bradenton is a place where traditional Florida charm can still be found, brimming with opportunities to experience Florida at its most real and authentic, flip flops are a way of life and the speed limit never exceeds 35mph. High rise condos and fast food restaurants are pleasantly absent - instead it is home to beautiful turquoise waters and its award-winning white-sand beaches, including the reclusive Whitney Beach on Longboat Key and seven miles of uninterrupted beach on Anna Maria Island.
No more than a few blocks (or cute houses) wide, Anna Maria Island has the sounds of waves and visions of the sunset in every location. Day 20 Bradenton to Crystal River, approx. 120 miles
A hidden gem located on Florida's Nature Coast and the Gulf of Mexico, Crystal River is famous for its sparking blue natural springs, spring-fed rivers, manatee-filled bays, and beautiful chain of lakes. It is the only place in the world where you can interact with manatees in their natural habitat.
Other attractions include salt and freshwater fishing, scalloping, canoe and kayaking and much more. If staying on land is more your thing there are plenty of cycling trails, golf courses and unique shopping experiences, not to mention some great local cuisine.
