Things To Do On Your Holiday Visit To Atlanta

Visiting family in Atlanta for the holidays and trying to decide what fun activities to do together? Here are a few festive options.

Ride Macy's Pink Pig. This iconic train has heralded the beginning of the holiday season in Atlanta for more than 50 years, offering fun, friends and fantasy under the signature 170-foot, 1950s-themed Pink Pig Tent.

Go ice skating. Why walk when you can glide? Check out one of Atlanta’s open-air ice rinks for a true winter delight.

Go to the theater. Performances of "Nutcracker" are in production in several theaters and performing arts centers throughout the city. One favorite is Atlanta Ballet's version.

Visit live nativity scenes. Slow down for a spell and immerse yourself into a live and interactive nativity scene.

Go to the Peach Bowl. Passionate fans will love this exciting college football playoff between the Auburn Tigers and the UCF Knights in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Deep dive into Festival of the SEAson. The Georgia Aquarium gets into the holiday spirit with a light and music show, tree-lighting ceremonies, Santa and SCUBA Claus, and live entertainment.

Enjoy Stone Mountain. The Skylights Spectacular is an immersive walk-through experience featuring thousands of lights, projections, special effects and even snowfall. Snow Mountain brings a winter wonderland to Atlanta with real snow you can inner tube down.

Celebrate all holidays at Winter Wonderland. The Fernbank Museum of Natural History celebrates Christmas, Hanukkah and other holidays with twinkling lights and trees hung with ornaments and cultural objects.

Check out Garden Lights Holiday Nights . Featuring high-tech light displays, illuminated attractions, model trains and restaurants at the 30-acre Atlanta Botanical Garden, this event is sure to delight.

Submerge yourself in Sips Under the Sea . Your family members who are 21 and older can wander Georgia Aquarium enjoying live music, cocktails and appetizers. Dec. 31.
