Day 3- Dallas to Austin, approx. 200 miles.
Take a historic walking tour of the city, and explore the Nation’s tallest state capitol building. Enjoy the ‘Live Music Capital of the World’ along 6th Street in the evening. The area also has some great bike trails and golf courses, and there are a range of other outdoor activities on offer as well. Day 5- Austin to San Antonio, approx. 80 miles
Spend two nights in San Antonio, where you can take a stroll along Riverwalk, visit the historic Alamo and shop at the El Mercado and Farmer’s Market Plaza – one of the largest Mexican markets outside of Mexico.
Day 7- San Antonio to Corpus Christi, approx. 150 miles
This could be the time to spend the day or two on the beach and the area boasts miles of unspoilt coastline in the Padre Island National Seashore, along with a variety of wildlife such as birds and sea turtles. You can also enjoy shelling, kayaking, surfing, kite boarding, tennis and golf. If outdoor activities are not your thing, the area also has museums, galleries, an aquarium, good shopping and local restaurants and nightlife.
Stay three nights in Corpus Christi.
Day 10- Corpus Christi to Houston, approx. 270 miles
Houston is a cosmopolitan city with Southern hospitality and charm. As America’s fourth largest city, it boasts restaurants, nightlife, museums and galleries to match. Also in Houston you can visit NASA and enjoy the IMAX theatre in the Johnson Space Center.
Spend two nights in Houston.
Day 12- Houston to Fort Worth, approx. 265 miles.
This is a city of ‘Cowboys and Culture’, with a well preserved Western heritage, along with world-class museums and galleries, shopping and dining. Enjoy the ambience and entertainment in Sundance Square. Visit the Stockyards area and see the morning cattle drive.
Spend an unforgettable evening at Billy Bob’s.
