Day 1 - Boston, MA
As America’s oldest city, Boston has a lot of history, but yet has a modern and contemporary vibe. Home to one of the most authentic ‘Little Italy’ in the U.S., the city’s throngs with Italian greengrocers and cafés, panetterias (bakeries), pizzerias and salumerias (delicatessens).
Day 3 - Boston to Cape Cod, MA, approx. 62 miles
Cape Cod boasts some great beaches and there are whale watching tours available from both Hyannis and Provincetown at the very tip of the Cape. Don’t forget to sample a bowl of clam chowder, New England’s most famous dish.
Day 5 - Cape Cod to New Haven, CT, approx. 167 miles
Hamburgers, the ultimate student food, were invented in the shadow of Yale University. Louis Lassen invented the ’burger back in 1895, but at Louis' Lunch, they’re grilled vertically and served with toast.
Day 7 - New Haven to the Berkshires, MA, approx. 70 miles
Home to many picturesque villages and rolling hills. The area is renowned for its autumn colours. Overnight in Lenox, Stockbridge or Williamstown.
Day 9 - Berkshires to Freeport, ME, approx. 237 miles
Maine is the 'Lobster Capital of the World,' The best way to eat lobster in New England is 'in the rough': outdoors at a wooden table, rolling up your sleeves, putting on a bib, and making a mess while you crack the claws and seek out the delicious meat.
Day 11 - Freeport to Boston, approx. 130 miles
Fly back to the UK.
