Day 1 - Arrive in Boston and stay two nights in a hotel

Famous for everything from the Red Sox and Paul Revere to Cheers and clam chowder, Boston is a popular destination for so many reasons. Part history lesson, part modern metropolis, the Hub offers attractions to suit every taste and interests. Explore the city on a "Hop on, Hop Off" trolley tour or walk the Freedom Trail, a well-preserved pedestrian path that weaves in and out of historic neighbourhoods. Between landmarks, you can shop the fabulous stores on Newbury Street, or browse the antique shops and distinctive red-brick buildings of Beacon Hill. Perhaps lunch in lively Quincy Market or a delicious authentic Italian meal in the North End.

Day 3 - Collect your RV and begin your road trip! Drive from Boston to Freeport, approx. 125 miles

Stay one night in the Freeport area

Maine's scenic coastline boasts small fishing villages and many lighthouses. On your way there are numerous places of interest to stop including Salem, Portsmouth, Kennebunkport and Portland. Why not take a fishing trip on a lobster boat and discover more about the region’s staple food. Freeport is located along the shores of upper Casco Bay. It is best known for its upscale outlet shopping and as home to the world famous L.L. Bean outdoor store. 

Day 4 - Drive from Freeport to Bar Harbor, ME, approx. 135 miles

Stay two nights in the Bar Harbor/Arcadia National Park area

Acadia National Park boasts miles of hiking trails, cycling and riding paths, fabulous scenery and wildlife. Take a hike to the top of Cadillac Mountain and watch the sunrise, and admire the stunning views. Shop in the boutiques of Bar Harbor or take to the water with a whale watching trip or sea kayaking adventure.

Day 6 - Drive from Bar Harbor to the White Mountains, NH, approx. 195 miles

Stay two nights in the White Mountains

The picturesque White Mountains make a great base for exploring New Hampshire whatever the season. Take a trip up Mount Washington by car, or on the cog-railway, see much photographed covered bridges, and beautiful mountain scenery all around. Outdoor activities abound here, as well as the tax free shopping at the factory outlets in North Conway. A short drive away, will bring you to the Lakes region and Lake Winnipesaukee, where the film 'On Golden Pond' was set.

Day 8 - Drive from the White Mountains to Stowe, VT, approx. 110 miles

Stay two nights in Stowe

Travel along the scenic Kancamagus Scenic Highway, stopping en-route at the Flume Gorge before continuing on to Stowe. This picture-postcard New England town has a quaint Main Street and is surrounded by beautiful Green Mountain scenery. There are plenty of outdoor activities here, or you could take a visit Lake Champlain or enjoy two free samples of the delicious ice-cream at the Ben and Jerry’s Factory. In the Autumn, Vermont might not be quite as green as it is in the Spring and Summer, but the Green Mountains will be awash with colour. Journey past rivers and waterfalls, stop in towns and villages with white picket fences and covered bridges. Savour local produce in roadside cafes, or fine dining restaurants and shop to your heart’s content in antique shops and boutiques.

Day 10 - Drive from Stowe to the Berkshires, approx. 195 miles

Stay two nights in the Berkshires

On your way why not stop at the Ben and Jerry’s Factory and enjoy two free samples of the delicious ice-cream at. End your day in the Berkshires. Home to many picturesque villages and rolling hills, the Berkshires are renowned for its Autumn colours, but a beautiful regardless of the season. The serenity and remoteness of the Berkshires attracted artists and authors including Melville, Hawthorne and famous illustrator Norman Rockwell and a visit to the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge is well worthwhile. Visit the Berkshire Botanical Gardens, a botanical collection, laid out as a series of garden rooms in a woodland setting. The collections emphasize plants that are indigenous to or thrive in the Berkshires. The Mahican – Mohawk Recreation Trail follows the corridor of the historic Native American path along the Deerfield River, and offers a fabulous opportunity to see Fall Foliage.

Day 12 - Drive from the Berkshires to Mystic, CT, approx. 120 miles

Stay one night in Mystic

A breath of fresh air between New York and Boston! The relaxed New England charm that has made Mystic a well-known destination can be found throughout the area. Enjoy this historic seaport with its world-class aquarium, shopping and choice of restaurants. Take a trip on the Mystic River, or stroll along one of the nearby beaches. 

Day 13 - Drive from Mystic to Cape Cod, approx. 130 miles

Stay two nights in Cape Cod

Explore Cape Cod, with its pretty villages and abundant attractions, fishing harbours, lighthouses and dramatic ocean views. The Cape Cod National Seashore has 40 miles of pristine sandy beach, marshes, ponds and diverse wildlife. Visit Provincetown, located at the very end of Cape Cod and take a whale watching tour or enjoy an evening dune tour and clambake dinner. You can also take day trips to the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. 

Day 15 - Drive from Cape Cod to Boston, approx. 90 miles and return your RV
