Day 1- Fly from the UK to San Francisco, where you will spend your first two nights. 
As well as the popular sights and fantastic shopping and dining options, why not take a trip across the bay to Sausalito and get a great view of the city skyline.

Day 3- San Francisco to Mendocino, approx. 155 miles. 
Collect a car and head north to Mendocino, where you will stay two nights. Stop en-route at Gualala and visit the arts centre or Bowling Ball Beach, where the smoothly formed rocks look just like bowling balls. At Point Arena you can visit the lighthouse, at 115ft it is one of the tallest lighthouses on the west coast. Mendocino is a quaint historic oceanside town with some nice boutiques and restaurants.

Day 5- Mendocino to Eureka, approx. 145 miles. 
Continue north to Eureka and stay one night. Take in Humboldt Redwoods State Park where these magnificent trees tower above you and create 'green tunnels' through which you can take a scenic drive.

Day 6- Eureka to Grants Pass, Oregon, approx. 170 miles. 
Drive to Grants Pass and stay one night. Cross into Oregon and visit Oregon Caves National Monument, where you can take a tour inside these rare marble caves. Grants Pass is in the heart of the Rogue Valley Wine and Farm Region and you can travel through orchards, vineyards and farm land, producing great wines.

Day 7- Grants Pass to Crater Lake National Park, approx. 105 miles. 
Drive to Klamath Falls, and stay for two nights. No visit to Oregon would be complete without a visit to Crater Lake National Park, and so today you will drive east to this unique volcanic landscape, perfect for hiking or biking, or just admiring the wonderful views.

Day 9- Crater Lake National Park to Redding, approx. 140 miles. 
Drive to Redding and stay two nights. Redding is home of the famous 'Sundial Bridge' and from here you can visit a wealth of attractions including Lassen Volcanic National Park and McArthur-Burney Falls State Park. The downtown Redding area has some great galleries, museums and shops.

Day 11- Redding to Sacramento, California, approx. 160 miles. 
As the capital of California, Sacramento is a cosmopolitan city with plenty to do from museums, shops and restaurants to outdoor activities, Broadway shows and beautiful parks. It has a rich Gold-Rush history and a historic downtown area.

Day 13- Sacramento to Napa & Sonoma, approx. 60 miles. 
Drive to the Napa/Sonoma Wine Country, and stay two nights. Enjoy the small towns and villages, with great restaurants, wineries and boutique shopping. The Napa Valley Wine Train is a grat way to experience both the countryside, along with the wine and food in vintage railcars.

Day 15- Napa & Sonoma to San Francisco, approx. 50 miles. 
Return to San Francisco and drop off your car before your flight back to the UK.
