Day 1 - Arrive in Boston and stay two nights in a hotel
Famous for everything from the Red Sox and Paul Revere to Cheers and clam chowder, Boston is a popular destination for so many reasons. Part history lesson, part modern metropolis, the Hub offers attractions to suit every taste and interests. Explore the city on a "Hop on, Hop Off" trolley tour or walk the Freedom Trail, a well-preserved pedestrian path that weaves in and out of historic neighbourhoods. Between landmarks, you can shop the fabulous stores on Newbury Street, or browse the antique shops and distinctive red-brick buildings of Beacon Hill. Perhaps lunch in lively Quincy Market or a delicious authentic Italian meal in the North End.
Day 3 - Collect your RV and begin your road trip! Drive from Boston to Freeport, approx. 125 miles
Stay one night in the Freeport area
Maine's scenic coastline boasts small fishing villages and many lighthouses. On your way there are numerous places of interest to stop including Salem, Portsmouth, Kennebunkport and Portland. Why not take a fishing trip on a lobster boat and discover more about the region’s staple food. Freeport is located along the shores of upper Casco Bay. It is best known for its upscale outlet shopping and as home to the world famous L.L. Bean outdoor store.
Day 4 - Drive from Freeport to Bar Harbor, ME, approx. 135 miles
Stay three nights in the Bar Harbor/Arcadia National Park area
Acadia National Park boasts miles of hiking trails, cycling and riding paths, fabulous scenery and wildlife. Take a hike to the top of Cadillac Mountain and watch the sunrise, and admire the stunning views. Shop in the boutiques of Bar Harbor or take to the water with a whale watching trip or sea kayaking adventure.
Day 7 - Drive from Bar Harbor to Kennebunkport, ME, approx. 180 miles
Stay two nights in Kennebunkport
Maine's scenic coastline boasts small fishing villages and many lighthouses. Travel along Kennebunkport’s spectacular Ocean Drive. See Walker’s Point, former President George H. W. Bush’s summer home, situated on a rocky promontory. Enjoy the quaint town centre with its galleries and shops, not to mention the restaurants! Why not take a fishing trip on a lobster boat and discover more about the region’s staple food.
Day 9 - Drive from Kennebunkport to Cape Cod, approx. 155 miles
Stay six nights in Cape Cod
Explore Cape Cod, with its pretty villages and abundant attractions, fishing harbours, lighthouses and dramatic ocean views. The Cape Cod National Seashore has 40 miles of pristine sandy beach, marshes, ponds and diverse wildlife. Visit Provincetown, located at the very end of Cape Cod and take a whale watching tour or enjoy an evening dune tour and clambake dinner. You can also take day trips to the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
Day 15 - Drive from Cape Cod to Boston, approx. 90 miles and return your RV
