Day 1 - Arrive in Los Angeles for two nights

Begin your holiday in ‘Tinsel Town’! Stroll along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, go behind the scenes on a tour of Warner Bros. Studios, ride the movies at Universal Studios Hollywood or shop (or window-shop) in some of the glamorous boutiques of Beverly Hills. Take in a concert or dance the night away at LA Live, have dinner in China Town or head to a sporting event. 

Day 3 - Collect your RV and head to Las Vegas, approx. 270 miles 

Stay two nights in Las Vegas. 

It has its rivals, but nowhere really comes close to the sheer spectacle that is Las Vegas. With its 24 hour casinos and restaurants, world-class shows and events and themed hotels, it’s a city that has to be seen to be believed. Soak up the sunshine or shop until you drop – whatever your fancy, Las Vegas is sure to have it! If natural attractions are more your scene, get a real desert experience on a dune buggy, jeep or hummer tour, or try horse riding or ziplining. Red Rock State Park, Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam are also close by.Visit downtown Las Vegas for a real insight into how the city developed. The Neon Museum and the Mob Museum have fascinating exhibits and tours into the history of the city and how it rose to its international status.

Day 5 - Leave the lights behind and drive to Mammoth Lakes, approx. 300 miles

Stay two nights in the High Sierra. 

Renowned for its winter activities, there is just as much going on here in the summer, from hiking, mountain climbing, biking, canoeing, kayaking, bird and wildlife watching and much more.
(N.B. between November and May the Tioga Pass into Yosemite is closed, so you would need to go from Las Vegas to Barstow for one night and then on to Yosemite)

Day 7 - Head for Yosemite National Park, approx. 100 miles 

Take in the wonders of Yosemite National Park, either by joining a ranger-led programme, hiking a trail, or meandering along one of driving loops – all allow you to get the most out of your visit. Yosemite experiences all four seasons, with pristine snowy winters, vibrant spring flowers, long hot summer days, and cool crisp autumns. No matter when you visit you are sure to be stunned by the scenery and the natural beauty of this popular national park. Spend two nights in Yosemite. 

Day 9 - Drive to Monterey, approx. 200 miles

Stay two nights the Monterey area

Discover this part of the coast from Monterey’s Cannery Row and world class aquarium to Carmel’s unique galleries, historic mission and small sandy coves. Point Lobos State Natural Preserve, located three miles south of Carmel, offers hiking trails and areas for enjoying the unique natural beauty of the rugged coastline. Point Lobos is a popular site for nature photographers and artists. Enjoy lunch or dinner at Rocky Point Restaurant located 10 miles south of Carmel, between Carmel and Big Sur, with beautiful views of the sea and shore. You may enjoy whale spouting, sea otters, and pelicans. 

Day 11 - Head south down Highway 1 and enjoy the stunning Big Sur coastline, on your way to Cambria, approx. 100 miles. 

Stay two nights in the Cambria area

There are plenty of photo-opportunities en-route and places to pull over and admire the view. Stop at Hearst Castle, a unique complex perched on the coastal hills. Walk or simply relax on the uncrowded and unspoilt sands at Moonstone Beach, or see the elephant seals basking in the sun at the Piedras Blancas Rookery. From Cambria you can also visit San Luis Obispo, with its historic mission, world famous Thursday night Farmers Market and museums and galleries. Take a walking food tour of San Luis Obispo, a kayak tour of Morro Bay or learn to surf at Pismo Beach. 

Day 13 - Drive to Santa Barbara, approx. 130 miles

Stay two nights in Santa Barbara

In Santa Barbara, experience the great restaurants, galleries and shops, as well as the historic Santa Barbara Mission, dating back to 1786. Santa Barbara also has a beautiful wide sandy beach – great for relaxing and people watching! Tour some of the nearby countryside dotted with vineyards, or take the Urban Wine Trail – a downtown walking trail of some of the best of the areas wineries. Take a boat trip or wildlife watching cruise to the Channel Islands National Park and see how thousands of years of isolation have formed these remote islands and unique wildlife habitats.


Day 15 - Return to Los Angeles, approx. 95 miles and drop-off your RV.
