Day 1 – Arrive in Fort Worth
Don’t miss the daily cattle driver and a visit to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, honouring the pride and determination of the women of the American West. Sample some unique nightlife in some of the bars and honky-tonks of the Stockyards. Stay for two nights in Fort Worth.

Day 3 – Fort Worth to Houston, approx. 240 miles.
Enjoy a day at NASA, or experience pioneer living at the George Ranch Historical Park. Don’t forget your appetite – Houston has some of the top restaurants in the USA, with cuisine from around the world. Stay for two nights in Houston.

Day 5 – Houston to San Antonio, approx. 195 miles.
San Antonio is a beautiful old city filled with colourful shops and sidewalk cafes. Take time to visit the Alamo and stroll the Riverwalk. Take a boat cruise on the San Antonio River or sample the perfect margarita at Aldaco’s in Sunset Station. Stay for two nights in San Antonio.

Day 7 – San Antonio to Bandera, approx. 55 miles.
Known as “The Cowboy Capital of the World” Bandera is located in the heart of ranch country and gives visitors the opportunity to get a feel of what it was like to be a cowboy in the West all those years ago. Go horse riding, stay at a dude ranch or visit a local honky-tonk and dance the night away to great country music. Stay for two nights in Bandera.

Day 9 – Bandera to Fort Stockton, approx. 275 miles.
Fort Stockton marks the start of your Big Bend adventure. This small city is home to plenty of history. Make sure to visit Historic Fort Stockton, the frontier military fort established in 1858 and the National Register Historic District. Stay for one night in Fort Stockton.

Day 10 – Fort Stockton to Big Bend National Park, approx. 155 miles.
Encompassing over 1,100 square miles of vast desert basins and majestic mountains, Big Bend may be of the United States' biggest national parks, but it is also one of its quietist, offering peace and tranquillity to those who visit. Go bird watching, gaze at the stars in the clear night sky, explore the Chisos Basin or take a dip in the hot springs. Stay for two nights in Big Bend National Park.

Day 12 – Big Bend National Park to Alpine, approx. 120 miles.
Located almost a mile above sea level, the city of Alpine may be small, but there is plenty to do in this lively community from boutique shops to art galleries. The city also provides a great base from which to explore the surrounding area. Make sure to visit Fort Davis, one of the best remaining examples of a frontier military post in the American Southwest. Stay for two nights in Alpine.

Day 14 – Alpine to Abilene, approx. 335 miles.
Abilene is a perfect stop off on your way back to Dallas. The frontier spirit still lives on in this city and there are plenty of museums around to find out more about its proud Wild West heritage. Make sure to visit the Buffalo Gap Historic village and also Frontier Texas, a museum which tells the story of Frontier life in Texas. Stay for one night in Abilene

Day 15 –Abilene to Dallas, approx. 155 miles.
Drop off your car in time for your flight back to the UK.
