Day 1 Arrive in Atlanta

Explore Atlanta, including World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium, and enjoy great shopping restaurants and nightlife. There are plenty of opportunities to get outdoors as well – cycle, run or walk part of the Atlanta Beltway, and get to know some of the city’s neighbourhoods, or visit Piedmont Park, the Atlanta Botanical Garden or Stone Mountain Park, just outside of the city.

Stay three nights in Atlanta.

Day 4 Drive to Columbus, approx. 105 miles

Columbus is a riverside city located at the center of most of Georgia’s major attractions, including nationally-renowned Callaway Gardens, Roosevelt’s Little White House, and Westville the Village of 1850. The RiverWalk provides an excellent facility to bike, in-line skate, jog, or just take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the scenery. Attractions include the State Theatre of Georgia, the historic Springer Opera House; Port Columbus Civil War Naval Museum; the National Infantry Museum; The Columbus Museum; the beautiful Historic District and spectacular architecture of the MidTown Historic District; and the Coca-Cola Space Science Center.

Stay one night in Columbus.

Day 5 Drive to Okefenokee, approx. 215 miles
Today’s first stop is Providence Canyon in Lumpkin, where you can uncover the layers of 'Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon' and explore the fascinating geological formations created by erosion. Admire the views from the Rim Trail or delve into the depths of the canyon on the 2 ½ mile Loop Trail. Head on to Albany which makes a great stop for lunch or a snack, before starting the picturesque cotton-fields drive to the Okefenokee area.

The Okefenokee Swamp & National Wildlife Refuge has long captivated the imaginations of those living in and around its murky mire. Home to scaly cypress trees, gators and snakes, the Okefenokee contains more than its share of creepy-crawlies. In fact, many visitors find their visit to the bog downright unsettling — quite literally, thanks to the unstable peat floor that causes trees to shiver at the slightest disruption. In fact, the 400,000-plus-acre swamp's name is derived from the Native American term for "Land of Trembling Earth".
Stay three nights in nearby Kingsland.

Day 8 Drive to Jekyll Island, approx. 70 miles

The smallest of Georgia's barrier islands, Jekyll has a rich history that reaches back centuries. It offers 10 miles of beach, protected marshland, award-winning golf courses, wildlife experiences, kayaking, biking and horseback riding adventures, a fun-filled water park, a 250-acre Historic Landmark District and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. A must see (or stay if you like) is the historic Jekyll Island Club Hotel, a 19th-century winter retreat for the wealthy. Watch the sunset from the bay side dock or dining in style in the main house.

Stay three nights on Jekyll Island.

Day 11 Drive to Savannah, approx. 90 miles

Take a carriage tour through the gracious squares of one of the South’s most beautifully preserved 18th century cities. Visit the museums, browse in the shops and dine in one of the many restaurants. One of the best ways to see Savannah is to take a walking tour of the city or an evening Ghost Tour. During your stay here visit Tybee Island located, 20 minutes from Historic Savannah, Georgia's First City. This barrier island boasts 5 miles of beaches backed by sea oat-covered sand dunes that are perfect for sunbathing, people-watching and frolicking in the sand and surf of the Atlantic Ocean.

Stay two nights in Savannah.

Day 13 Savannah to Madison, approx. 210 miles

Madison is Georgia's "authentic southern town", with an array of ambient local dining options, speciality shops and over 160 antique dealers. For a true family adventure, stay at the Southern Cross Guest Ranch is a premier year-around guest ranch, horse farm, and bed & breakfast conveniently nestled in Central Georgia's Historic Heartland and within an hour drive from Atlanta. Home to well over 150 quality Paint and Quarter horses, the ranch is best known for its exceptional hands-on horseback riding program, unguided riding opportunities, and peaceful, comfortable setting.

Stay two nights in Madison.

Day 15 Return to Atlanta, approx. 60 miles and drop-off your car in time to check-in for your flight
