Virginia Beach offers the perfect mix of beaches, outdoor adventures, and eclectic districts, ensuring there’s something for everyone on your next holiday. Whether you are soaking up the sun, indulging in fresh seafood, or discovering local art and culture, Virginia Beach is a destination that delights at every turn.

Chesapeake Bay

The Chesapeake Bay region offers romantic adventures and picturesque landscapes with the soft waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay as a backdrop. Chic’s Beach is a beloved local spot perfect for swimming, dolphin-watching, or a laid-back game of beach volleyball. For adventure beyond the shore, try horse riding along scenic trails with Chesapeake’s trail rides, available in autumn, winter, and spring. End your day with a breathtaking sunset stroll along the beach, framed by the iconic Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.

Inland

The Inland region provides an excellent complement to your beach holiday, featuring top-tier dining, breweries, and entertainment. Unwind at The Founder’s Inn and Spa, browse fresh produce at the Virginia Beach Farmer’s Market or Hunt Club Farm, or indulge in a shopping spree at The Shops at Hilltop and Lynnhaven Mall. A varied culinary scene awaits, offering everything from delicious pizza and mouth watering burgers to locally sourced, four-star dining. If you’re looking for a unique experience beyond traditional dining, check out themed spots like Young Veterans Brewing Company, Dave’s BBQ, Aloha Hawaiian BBQ, and Hair of the Dog Eatery.

Oceanfront

Virginia Beach’s Oceanfront strikes a perfect balance between relaxation and excitement, featuring golden sandy beaches, a vibrant three-mile boardwalk, and the iconic King Neptune statue. Enjoy live music, street performances, and fresh seafood at waterfront restaurants while taking in breath taking ocean views. Adventure seekers can parasail above the Atlantic, paddle along the coast, or surf the waves at the world’s longest-running surf competition, the Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships on the 17 to 24 August 2025. Rudee Inlet serves as a hub for jet skiing and waterfront dining at favourites like Big Sam’s Raw Bar and Rockafeller’s. Year-round events, including Something in the Water, the Neptune Festival, celebrated since 1974 and returning on 26 September 2025, and Live On Atlantic concerts, provide nonstop entertainment. Don’t miss unique experiences like the Bulls and Barrels Beach Rodeo in April, making Oceanfront a dynamic destination all year long.

Pungo

Just minutes from the windswept dunes of Sandbridge lies Pungo, a 23,000-acre agricultural district offering a rural escape from the bustling Oceanfront. Drive through scenic farmland, stop by roadside stands, or pick your own fresh berries, produce, and wildflowers. Virginia Beach is home to some of the finest strawberries in the state. Strawberry season runs from April to June, with popular farms like Brookdale Farm, Flip Flop Farmer, Henley Farms, Flanagan Farms, and Cullipher Farm offering some of the best picking experiences. Visit early in the season and explore the area’s rich agricultural heritage.

Sandbridge

Located a short drive south of the Oceanfront District, Sandbridge is a secluded beach hideaway with pristine sand dunes and sea. It’s the ideal escape to slow down and unwind. Beachside, the Atlantic never fails to produce a fantastic experience, while the marshes and open waters of Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and False Cape State Park offer kayaking and hiking opportunities. False Cape State Park boasts over six miles of unspoiled beaches and 15.3 miles of trails winding through dunes, woodlands, marshes, and swamps. The park is home to over 300 species of nesting and migratory songbirds, along with otters, white-tailed deer, red foxes, loggerhead turtles, bald eagles, wild horses, and more. Whether hiking the 6.2-mile Sand Ridge Trail or simply enjoying the coastal landscape, False Cape offers an unforgettable experience for nature lovers.

Town Center

At the heart of Virginia Beach, Town Center is the go-to district for high-end shopping, dining, and entertainment. Perfect for a day out or a romantic evening, it offers comedy shows at Funny Bone Comedy Club, live performances at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts and Zeider’s American Dream Theatre, and a variety of restaurants and bars. From seasonal events like summer movie nights, Halloween festivities, and holiday tree lightings to year-round entertainment, there’s always something happening. Whether planning a night out or a casual day of exploring you are sure to be entertained.

ViBe District

The ViBe Creative District serves as a cultural hub where artists, makers, and creatives thrive. Monthly events like First Fridays, Second Saturdays, and VB Flea showcase the community’s vibrant spirit. Explore local artist studios at the Virginia Beach Art Center, enjoy world-class exhibitions at Virginia MOCA, or sample fresh local flavours at the Old Beach Farmers Market. Take a stroll along the district’s walking trail to admire stunning murals and public art installations. Every corner of the ViBe is infused with creativity, making it a must-visit for art lovers and culture enthusiasts.

From the lively Oceanfront to the quiet beauty of Sandbridge, Virginia Beach offers different regions to explore, each with its own charm. Whether you are seeking adventure, relaxation, or cultural experiences, this coastal city promises an unforgettable holiday.
