Baltimore

Located on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, Baltimore offers waterfront fun, an array of exciting museums and cultural attractions, as well diverse and vibrant neighbourhoods that make it easy to see why the city is known as “Charm City”. The city’s main attraction is the Inner Harbor, home to numerous shops, restaurants, and attractions including the National Aquarium, the Maryland Science Center, and Port Discovery Children’s Museum. Take the elevator ride to the “Top of the World” observation level of the World Trade Center for outstanding views of the harbour and surrounding city.

The Baltimore Water Taxi offers convenient transportation in and around the harbour. Use the taxi to explore nearby neighbourhoods and attractions like Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine, the site of a War of 1812 battle that inspired Francis Scott Key to pen what would become the U.S. national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner”. Explore the Baltimore Blueway and see Baltimore’s attractions and waterfront at the same time. The network of paddling trails connects cultural, historic and natural sights within a 3-mile waterfront radius. The 2.5-mile Middle Branch loop is perfect for beginners, while the Inner Harbor North Shore Loop is a moderately challenging 5.5-mile loop and the Patapsco River Trail is 7.5 miles round trip.

Art lovers will want to explore the city’s museums, including the Baltimore Museum of Art, The Walters Art Museum, and the American Visionary Art Museum, a museum dedicated to showcasing works of American artists who have not been formally trained. The city’s culinary scene boasts fresh seafood best enjoyed at waterfront restaurants, and a thriving craft brewing scene. Baltimore is also home to the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens and the MLB’s Baltimore Orioles. No matter which game you’re partial to, these tournaments and competitions are sure to get your adrenaline going.
